The vein clinic reached its 20th anniversary in 2023
We began as a brave and new concept in healthcare in 2003 dealing only with venous disorders and allied conditions. The Vein Clinic was one of the first clinics in the United Kingdom to provide the full range of treatment options for abnormal veins using the latest technology with a fully qualified and dedicated medical team. We work together with each of our patients to determine the best treatment with the best outcome.
During the last 20 years we have treated more than 10,000 patients with thread or varicose veins using sclerotherapy, laser or radiofrequency therapy. We audit and present all of our results which show a success rate of 98% at 3 years follow up.
The Vein Clinic has expanded to cover most of the major areas of Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Berkshire. The Vein Clinic is the only clinic in these regions that provides all the treatments for abnormal veins under one roof. We are pleased to provide training opportunities for doctors and nurses from all countries in conjunction with the major laser and radio frequency companies.
All of the team at The Vein Clinic are fully qualified medical personnel with substantive NHS hospital appointments. We share the common passion of using the best tools available to us to offer you a tailor-made solution for your treatment(s).
Six reasons to use The Vein Clinic for your treatment
We understand that you have a choice regarding who will treat your veins. Here are the main 6 reasons why we feel you should consider us:
Experience. We exclusively concentrate on venous diseases and have been treating abnormal veins since 2003. We were one of the first dedicated centres in the UK for the treatment of abnormal veins and the entire focus of our practice is state of the art, minimally invasive vein care.
A Centre of Excellence. We are internationally recognised for the quality of our work and have taught our techniques to other doctors all over the UK and many other countries in the world. The Vein Clinic was one of the first clinics in the UK to perform endovenous laser therapy and the VNUS Closure procedure. We have been designated as a national clinical training center for the endovenous laser therapy and the Venefit procedure (formerly known as VNUS Closure).
M4 Based. We are based in a purpose-built facility at the Great Western Hospital, Swindon. We do not work with private hospitals which means that we can meet and treat you locally with all the reassurance of being looked-after in a proper hospital facility.
Competitive Prices. We strongly believe in making vein treatments accessible to all so we keep our overheads low, which means that we can keep our prices competitive.
One-stop service. We do not treat varicose veins as a sideline to a general surgical practice which means that we can see and scan you in one appointment. You do not need to return again unless it is for your treatment.
Customised Solutions. We tailor your treatment for the best outcome because we have all the technologies available for vein treatments in one site. Unlike our competitors we do not rely on one option to treat everyone.
We never entice patients to our clinic with the offer of a free scan or screening questionnaire only to put treatment out of reach due to costs. We do not subscribe to such unethical practices.
Recently we have become aware of practices that appear similar to ours opening locally and providing the impression they are related to us or offer similar excellence. We never work with any other venous practice and are solely located at The Shalbourne Suite in The Great Western Hospital. All of the profits made are returned back to the NHS for the benefit of everyone and not the pockets of nameless shareholders.
You will recognise us from our distictive blue logo on all your paperwork.
