Mr Ravi Singh-Ranger is a co-founder and director of The Vein Clinic.
In 2002, he was invited to assess a new treatment for varicose veins involving laser heat energy and requiring only local anaesthetic.
Initially this was reserved for selected patients but the excellent results obtained with laser produced such great interest that he gradually moved towards providing a full vein-care service for all his patients.
Mr Singh-Ranger was one of the first surgeons in the UK to perform endovenous laser surgery and the Venefit procedure (formerly known as VNUS Closure®).
He is now a national key-opinion leader in the field of endovenous surgery with an experience of more than 500 cases per year.
Mr Singh-Ranger holds a substantative NHS consultant appointment at The Great Western Hospital in Wiltshire; he has qualified to postgraduate level in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery through the Royal College of Surgeons (Eng) and is listed on the GMC specialist medical register.
Mr Singh-Ranger's practice, The Vein Clinic (Wiltshire & Gloucestershire), is recognised as a National Center of Excellence by the major device companies for the keyhole treatment of venous disease, and is one of the busiest practices devoted to minimally invasive vein care in the United Kingdom.
Many doctors have travelled both from within the UK and internationally to learn vein therapies from Mr Singh-Ranger.
In addition Mr Singh-Ranger has been invited to teach and mentor doctors in many different hospitals both nationally and internationally.
